🌿 Wildscape hits #1 on BGG! 🤯

Wildscape on #1 BGG Hotness

🌿 Wildscape is flying high!

Our Wildscape pre-order campaign launched on August 11, and honestly, we couldn’t have hoped for a better response. The feedback has been fantastic, and we’ve already sold a large chunk of our entire print run — to the point where we’re already considering a reprint!

And then something happened that completely caught us off guard: Wildscape reached #1 on the BoardGameGeek Hotness List and stayed there for four days in a row! 🤯

Seeing so much organic interest and excitement from the community has been incredibly rewarding. We can’t wait to get Wildscape onto your tables!

📦 Wildscape fulfillment update

Things are moving along nicely, although the exact timing differs by region:

🇪🇺 Europe: The European shipment is also underway and is currently expected to arrive around September 18. [Track the ship here].
So there is a very good chance that most preorder backers in the EU will receive their games before the game fair in Essen. Overall, we’re right where we expected to be in our timeline — and we’re getting closer every day!

🇺🇸 USA: Ocean freight is already underway and is expected to arrive on October 2.

🇬🇧 UK: The ocean freight for the UK was unfortunately delayed by the typhoon that hit China. Thus, we airfreighted some of the cargo to the UK and it arrived today. This way, the current preorder backers don’t have to wait too long. Fulfillment should begin very soon, hopefully next week.

🌏 Asia: The cargo is about to arrive at our warehouse in China, after which fulfillment can begin.

🎪 Taking Wildscape to Essen

If you’re heading to SPIEL Essen this year and want to check out Wildscape, there’s a BGG GeekList dedicated to previewing games at the show. Copies of Wildscape will be available to play and buy in English, German, and French.

You can mark your interest in Wildscape on the GeekList to keep track of the games you want to see at Essen — and it also helps us! The more people mark their interest, the further Wildscape moves up the list, helping more people discover the game.

🏙️ What’s next? Bloomworks!

While Wildscape is making its way around the world, we’re already turning much of our attention to our next game: Bloomworks.

Bloomworks is a mid-heavy economic strategy game set in 1990s New York, complete with graffiti, urban culture, and a distinctive visual identity illustrated by The Mico.

Here’s a glimpse at the preliminary cover. It’s not finished yet, but it should give you a good idea of the direction we’re taking:

If you enjoy Clans of Caledonia, Bloomworks might be right up your alley. At its heart is an interactive, economic game with a dynamic market with fluctuating prices, creating an economy where players constantly have to adapt their plans to changing conditions. The novel twist is that players define the contract recipes themselves. Whoever delivers to a window first determines the exact flowers all players must deliver to that window.

The game design is already about 95% complete, but there’s still plenty of fine-tuning to do. Bloomworks features a lot of setup variability, as well as asymmetric player powers that can significantly change how you approach the game.

And that’s where we’d love your help!

🎲 Want to playtest Bloomworks?

We’re looking for playtesters on Tabletop Simulator who can help us fine-tune the game, particularly the asymmetric player powers.

It’s also a great opportunity to get an early look at the game if you’re considering picking it up when it eventually launches.

🚀 Growing Karma Games

We also held a strategy workshop at Karma Games in August, where we spent some time looking at where we want to take the company next.

As a result, we’ve decided to expand the team and are currently hiring for two new roles:

  • Sales & Marketing Specialist
  • Operations Specialist

Both positions are based in Berlin and are not remote positions. We’re looking for people who are already living in Berlin or are willing to relocate here.

If you’d like to help shape the next chapter of Karma Games, check out the full job descriptions and find out more on our job page:

Thanks for following along, supporting our games, playtesting, sharing them with your friends, and generally being part of the Karma Games community.

See you at the table! 🌿🎲
